Meigs County, TN, known as "The Shoreline County" was established in the year 1836. Named after Jonathan Meigs a Colonel in the American Revolutionary War and home to roughly 13,000 residents. Meigs consists of five districts with its county seat being Decatur, TN. The entire west side of the county is shoreline for both Watts Bar Lake & Chickamauga Lake making up the Tennessee River, while the Hiwassee River runs through the southern part of the county.
